Project 365 | June
I know I say this all the time, but it is crazy how fast a month goes by. I always think summer is going to be more relaxing, less hectic, but it’s never the case LOL. This summer has been insanely busy. If you know me personally you know that I can’t remember a darn thing these days, for realz. With life being so crazy and our “to do” lists growing we have been a tad overwhelmed, but we somehow manage to always “get most of it” done….eventually…
This month Owen taught Liam to drive the go cart so he can chauffeur him back and forth to the barn. We had a devastating ending to one of Brooke’s favorite little gilts, farming is not easy. Owen is my designated put everything together guy….he enjoys building things and playing in all the boxes is also a bonus. The kiddos got the rest of their poultry projects for 4H :). Trav and I celebrated our Tenth anniversary, we got to go out to dinner kid free. I honestly can’t remember the last time we did that LOL. Swimming at Nana and Papa’s pool has been our “get away” to get some much needed fun in this month. Trav taught Aves how to do a round off off of bails of hay…he stuck the landing by the way. Averie had a great dance season and did fabulous at her dance recital, so proud of her. I am always amazed that my Brookie beast can easily carry bags of feed back to the barn, she is crazy strong. The Turkeys are a new project for us this year, I highly recommend them they are so funny. Ave’s and Liam worked together to get a garden in for us this year. We picked tons of Black Raspberries around the farm and made lots of jam and the two little’s made two pies that were delicious. We also got some blueberry picking in and more jam made. And Averie’s laying hens started laying eggs.
